Privacy Policy

LedgerAI is an on-device compliance-readiness and audit-record tool, made by Quantyx, that helps South African firms keep track of their POPIA and FSCA record-keeping obligations and maintain a tamper-evident audit trail. We designed it to collect as little as possible, which in practice means we collect nothing about you at all.
The short version
There is no account and no sign-up. There are no Quantyx servers. Everything LedgerAI records stays on your device. We have no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party software development kits. The Android edition declares no permissions whatsoever — no internet, no location, no camera — so there is nothing to collect and no way to transmit it.
Zero permissions
The Android build of LedgerAI requests no Android permissions at all. It has no internet permission, so it cannot make a network connection, upload data, or sync to any server. It has no location or camera access. With no permissions, the app has no technical means to send your data off the device.
What LedgerAI stores, and where
Your readiness scores, the controls you work, your deadlines and the audit-trail events you generate are stored locally on your device only, in a local database (Room). None of it is transmitted. The audit trail is a tamper-evident chain held on your device — it exists to give you a record you can rely on, not a copy that we hold.
What we do not do
We do not run a backend, so your records are never uploaded to us. We do not collect analytics or usage statistics. We do not use advertising or marketing trackers. We do not embed third-party SDKs. We do not sell, rent or share data, because we never receive any.
What this build does not include
The Android edition has no account, no in-app purchases, and none of the AI or cloud features that appear in other versions. The on-device AI Copilot, cloud team sync, signed audit-pack export and related connected features are not present in this build — they are stubbed or omitted — so no data is sent anywhere for them either.
A tool, not a guarantee
LedgerAI is a tool that helps you organise and evidence your POPIA and FSCA record-keeping. It does not certify, guarantee or warrant that you are compliant with any law or regulation. Compliance remains your responsibility, and you should rely on your own professional advisers for regulatory decisions.
Children
LedgerAI is a professional business tool, not directed at children, and it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there is no account and no data leaves the device, the app does not gather information about users of any age.
Deleting your data
You are always in control. You can clear LedgerAI's data from inside the app or by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, and deleting the app removes its local database entirely. There is no server-side copy to request the deletion of, because none ever existed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because this build collects nothing, any change will be to clarify wording rather than to expand data collection.
